Standard cars, SUVs and small vans are covered by the regular package price with no surcharges. For classic cars (built before 1990), rare imported vehicles or certain special vehicles, the inspection effort can differ — in such cases, please give us a quick call beforehand: 030 301 32 327. We'll clarify it free of charge and with no obligation.

Is the Premium check really worth it over Standard?

It depends on the vehicle. The Standard check delivers the complete technical inspection — for most used-car purchases in the mid price range, that's enough. The Premium check adds three services that can quickly recoup the price difference: first, a market-value analysis (what is the vehicle really worth, taking its defects into account?); second, an itemised repair-cost estimate (what will need doing, and when?); and third, a follow-up phone consultation with an expert after the check. Rule of thumb: Standard up to around €15,000, Premium for more expensive or more complex vehicles — and always when you need solid grounds for price negotiations.

How does the price compare to DEKRA or TÜV?

A direct price comparison is difficult, because DEKRA and TÜV primarily carry out the legally mandated periodic technical inspection (HU) — not purchase-focused on-site checks. The HU assesses whether a vehicle meets road-traffic requirements; it does not evaluate whether a vehicle is a fair deal at a given purchase price, and it provides no report with a market-value analysis or repair-cost estimate. checkdenwagen is built for a different job: you want to know what you're buying — before you sign.

Payment is made online at booking via the usual payment methods — credit card, debit card and others. The amount is due at booking, not only after the check. You'll receive a booking confirmation by email.

If a scheduled viewing can't take place — because the seller cancels the appointment or the vehicle becomes unavailable at short notice — we'll refund you in full. No handling fee, no fine print. The refund is usually processed within 5 business days via the payment method you chose. A reputable seller with a flawless vehicle has no reason to refuse an independent check — that alone tells you a lot.
