What is purchase support?

Purchase support is personal, on-site assistance when buying a used car, provided by an independent inspector. Unlike a classic used-car inspection — where the inspector drives to the seller alone and you receive the digital report — with purchase support the inspector is at the appointment together with you. He inspects the vehicle live across over 100 points, explains his findings to you right on site and helps you negotiate on a fact-based footing, drawing on the actual vehicle assessment. checkdenwagen.de is an independent provider of on-site used-car inspections operating across Germany, based in Berlin with a network of inspectors throughout the country. The inspector acts solely in your interest — with no sales commission, no ties to dealers or platforms. The result: you go into the conversation with the facts and know exactly what the vehicle is really worth — before you sign. How to book purchase support: purchase support is booked as an add-on (€99) together with your Standard or Premium check. In the booking form (Step 1: Vehicle type & package) you'll find the option as the 4th question. Direct booking without an on-site check is not possible — we want you to have the full safety net.

When is purchase support worth it? When you don't want to negotiate alone.

High-priced vehicle, high risk

With vehicles from €15,000 upwards, more is at stake. An overlooked defect or too high a purchase price hurts twice as much. Our inspector gives you the certainty that you're accepting neither the vehicle nor the price blindly.

Negotiating on equal terms

Many buyers feel left on their own in the price talk — especially when the seller is a seasoned pro or touts the vehicle as 'flawless'. With an experienced inspector at your side, you lead the conversation with facts instead of gut feeling.

Unclear vehicle history

Gaps in the service booklet, missing invoices or a mileage that's too low for the vehicle's age are quiet warning signs. Our inspector spots these patterns on site and assesses how serious they really are.

First purchase or little experience

Anyone buying a used vehicle for the first time often doesn't know what really matters. Purchase support gives you certainty — from the test drive to the last question for the seller.

Suspected accident vehicle

When the photos or description don't quite add up but the offer still sounds appealing: our inspector checks paint, panel gaps and bodywork live and tells you clearly whether the suspicion is justified — before you transfer the money.

Private sale with no right of return

When buying from a private seller there is no warranty. What you see is what you get. An independent inspector who is there live reduces the risk to a minimum.

What purchase support covers

Before the appointment: preparation & listing analysis

Our inspector analyses the listing, the vehicle data and — where available — the vehicle history before you head to the viewing together. That way he already knows which points deserve special attention, and you know which questions to put to the seller.

During the viewing: complete on-site inspection

The inspector examines the vehicle live across over 100 inspection points: paint & bodywork with coating-thickness measurement, engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, electronics via OBD diagnostics, the interior and all available documents. The test drive is of course part of the inspection — around 1.5 hours are allowed for a thorough assessment.

At the price talk: fact-based negotiation support

After the inspection — still at the same appointment — the inspector discusses his findings with you and explains which defects are price-relevant and to what extent. He helps you negotiate in a level-headed, well-founded way. You are and remain the buyer — the inspector is your informed advocate, not your negotiator.

Market-price assessment as a negotiation basis

Alongside the technical findings, the inspector provides an assessment of whether the asking price matches the actual condition and the current market environment — concrete, traceable and without sugar-coating. That gives you the certainty of neither overpaying nor needlessly torpedoing a good offer.

What purchase support is not

Purchase support is technical and market-oriented assistance with buying a used car — not legal advice. Our inspector does not conclude any purchase contract on your behalf, gives no legal recommendations and assumes no liability for the buying decision itself. The decision to buy the vehicle or not is yours alone. Likewise not included is an official roadworthiness test (HU/TÜV) — anyone who needs one must take the vehicle to an approved testing centre. Our inspector gives you a well-founded, independent second opinion with a strong negotiating basis — but he does not replace lawyers, automotive experts for formal appraisal purposes, or officially recognised roadworthiness tests.

How your purchase support works.

Submit a request & arrange the appointment

You tell us the vehicle, the location and your preferred date. We arrange the shared appointment with you and the seller — you don't have to coordinate anything else.

Preparation: listing analysis before the appointment

Our inspector analyses the listing, vehicle data and document situation in advance. Anything noteworthy is flagged, so he can inspect in a targeted way at the appointment and you know which questions are critical.

03

On-site inspection together with you — approx. 1.5 hours

Inspector and buyer are at the appointment together. The vehicle is examined across over 100 inspection points: paint, bodywork, engine, suspension, electronics, interior, documents — live, transparently and with running commentary.

04

Findings discussion & negotiation support

Right after the inspection — still at the seller's — the inspector goes over the results with you and gives you a clear price assessment. You know where you stand and can enter the negotiation with the facts.
