At checkdenwagen.de, quality assurance is not just a one-off selection interview. It is an end-to-end process: from the initial review of qualification documents, through structured onboarding, to ongoing monitoring via customer feedback and spot-check report reviews. The foundation is the standardised inspection protocol with over 100 points. It dictates what an inspector has to check, how findings are to be documented and which measuring equipment is used. No inspector can leave out individual categories or gloss over findings without it becoming visible in the report. The protocol is the operational basis; the selection process and onboarding ensure that it is applied consistently.
Quality standards: how we inspect vehicles — and inspectors
A nationwide inspector network is only as good as its weakest inspection. That's why checkdenwagen.de invests in a structured selection process, a clear onboarding programme, a standardised inspection protocol and a continuous quality-assurance system — so that your report carries the same weight everywhere in Germany.
What requirements apply to new inspectors?
checkdenwagen.de only admits specialists with proven hands-on automotive experience into the network. The minimum requirement is a completed apprenticeship as an automotive mechatronics technician or an equivalent qualification in vehicle technology, combined with at least three years of relevant professional experience. Preference is given to applicants with a master vehicle mechanic's qualification, appraiser training, or proven experience at TÜV, DEKRA, GTÜ or KÜS. Beyond that, self-employment and regional mobility are basic prerequisites: inspectors drive to sellers, coordinate appointments on their own responsibility and produce reports within a clearly defined timeframe. Customer focus is not a soft factor but operationally necessary — the inspector presents themselves professionally to the seller while maintaining strict impartiality.
How does the selection process work?
The application begins with the submission of a CV, proof of qualifications and details of the preferred region and mobility. In the first step, checkdenwagen.de reviews the formal qualifications; applicants who meet the minimum requirements are invited to a structured technical interview — either by phone or video conference. The technical interview discusses concrete inspection scenarios: How does an applicant deal with a suspicious paint finding? What needs to be considered when reading the OBD? How do you communicate a serious finding to an agitated seller? This conversation is not a knowledge quiz but a practical assessment of judgement. Those who pass the selection process then complete a multi-stage onboarding before taking on their first independent assignment.
What does onboarding for new inspectors involve?
Onboarding is divided into several stages. First, new inspectors receive a detailed introduction to the inspection protocol: point by point, category by category, with explanations of why certain inspection steps are carried out in which order and how findings are to be documented unambiguously. In the second step, they practise using the measuring equipment — paint-thickness measurement, OBD diagnostics, fault-memory interpretation. Anyone who already brings their own equipment is calibrated to the standards used across the network. In the third step, the new inspector carries out trial inspections, whose reports are assessed on substance by experienced network inspectors or the checkdenwagen head office. Only once onboarding has been successfully completed are independent customer assignments handed out.
How does checkdenwagen.de ensure quality nationwide and on an ongoing basis?
Quality assurance does not end with onboarding. checkdenwagen.de carries out spot-check content reviews of submitted reports — focusing on completeness, consistency of findings and photographic documentation. Reports that show anything out of the ordinary are discussed directly with the inspector. In parallel, customer feedback is actively gathered after every completed inspection. These responses feed into the ongoing assessment of each inspector. In the case of repeatedly negative feedback or documented quality deviations, checkdenwagen.de initiates a structured feedback conversation; if it happens again, the collaboration is ended. This system protects customers from inconsistent inspection quality and gives inspectors clear feedback on their own work.
Six hallmarks of our quality standards
Proven professional experience
Every inspector brings at least three years of relevant hands-on automotive experience — as a master vehicle mechanic, an appraiser or a specialist with TÜV/DEKRA experience. No career changers without a technical qualification.
Structural independence
Freelance activity and a strict separation from seller and dealer interests: no inspector has a financial relationship with the other side. Impartiality is contractually governed.
Standardised inspection protocol
Over 100 inspection points, standardised and binding. Every inspector works from the same checklist — no matter the region. That makes reports comparable and findings easy to follow.
Measurement, not just a glance
Paint-thickness measurement, OBD diagnostics and photographic documentation are a mandatory part of every check. At checkdenwagen.de, a subjective visual inspection alone is not enough.
Structured onboarding
New inspectors go through a multi-stage onboarding with protocol training, an introduction to the measuring equipment and supervised trial inspections — before they take on customer assignments independently.
Ongoing quality control
Spot-check report reviews and customer feedback actively gathered after every check. Deviations are addressed directly; persistent quality issues lead to exclusion from the network.

Frequently asked questions about quality standards and the selection process
After passing the selection interview, new inspectors go through a multi-stage onboarding: an introduction to the inspection protocol, training on how to use the prescribed measuring equipment, and supervised trial inspections. Only after their trial inspections are assessed positively are they given independent customer assignments.
